New initiative ‘act’ launches its website this week paving a way for the local people of Argyll and the Isles to find out what’s happening in terms of support and development in their area. The charity, which is supported by The Forestry Commission, Argyll and Bute Council, Scottish and National Heritage and NHS Highland, has one main vision - to maintain, enhance and promote the coast and countryside of Argyll and the Isles, so it can be enjoyed by residents, businesses and visitors.
Julie Young, Development Officer of act said ‘plans for the initiative have been underway for the past 12 months or so – to now be at launch stage is a very exciting time for us.’
Act, which is an abbreviation for Argyll and the Isles Coast and Countryside Trust will be serving the local communities almost as a hub facility. Julie continues “we wanted to provide the people of Argyll and the Isles with a platform where they can find out about all of the projects taking place in the local community. From conserving wildlife to creating new job opportunities act will be supporting activity which either improves enhances or promotes Argyll and the Ills its local and wider networks’
The act website is now live and can be visited at www.act-now.org.uk
