New local charity ‘act’ invited local people to be the ‘face’ of their new brand by putting themselves forward to be models for the day. The project, which is supported by The Forestry Commission, Argyll and Bute Council, Scottish and National Heritage and NHS Highland, launches next month and has one main vision - to maintain, enhance and promote the coast and countryside of Argyll and the Isles, so it can be enjoyed by residents, businesses and visitors.
At the beginning of March act ran a facebook campaign inviting local people to submit a photograph of themselves to apply for the opportunity to front the initiative’s marketing collateral. The campaign was successful and within a week act had more than enough applicants to fulfill a day’s photo shoot.
Steven Brown, MD of Digital Soul Design act’s marketing agency, said “It was great to be able to use local people for the photo shoot. Part of the brief for the project is to design communications that appeal to local people. What better way to do that than to actually use people from the area in the photography!” John Maskell, from X said “It was a really good thing to be part of. The initiative sounds like it will be a fantastic benefit to the community of Argyll and I am very proud to be a part of it. The added bonus is that all my friends and family now think I’m famous!!”
Other participating models were; Tracy and Malcolm Laverly, gabi Rose and x White, x, x and x. The photography taken of local participants will be used on the act website www.act-now.org.uk and other brand communications.
