At the end of June the Vikings Raided Ardrishaig, and Act was there to join forces with Artmap Argyll, Heart of Argyll, Scottish Beaver Trial and local scouts and sailing club to see the Vikings safely off towards Tarbert.
Before the battle broke out we spent some take putting together geocaches with visitors to our display stand on the front green. Kyle, Hannah, Emma, Ellen, Mary, Natan, Anita, Sophie, Melanie, Eve were among those who gathered Artmap treasures, notebooks, pencils, sporks, badges, leaflets, cookie cutters, postcards, rulers and outdoor activity cards (kindly donated by SNH, Forestry Commission Scotland and Artmap). Notebooks included the name and date that the cache was started and some people included messages for the keen geocachers who find the boxes. Everyone chose their own special place in Mid-Argyll where they would like their cache to be placed and we’ve attempted to get them as close as possible to everyone’s choices (landowner permissions, location of existing caches all have to be considered).
We’ve spent a good few days stomping around Argyll and are now proud to say that the first Act-now caches are in place and should be registered on the www.geocaching.com website imminently. Can you find them? Let us know when you do.
Natan’s Blarbuie High Wood
Melanie’s Barr Mor Taynish
Mary and Ellen’s Moine Mhor

We completed 11 caches in all, and will set the remaining ones and new ones completed at Ardrishaig Gala Day over the next few weeks.
