Come to CowalFest Argyll 2017 for a ten-day adventure in walking and other pursuits from Friday 6 – Sunday 15 October 2017. This annual walking festival is one of the largest and most varied in Scotland, with many walks led by expert and knowledgeable leaders. All ages and abilities are catered for and the walks cover a range of interests including wildlife, bird watching, art, heritage, folklore, tai chi, interesting gardens, and some challenging hill walks.
CowalFest Argyll 2017 takes place throughout the Cowal Peninsula in that part of the west of Scotland that extends into the Firth of Clyde. The Arrochar Alps and Ardgoil peninsula in the north fringe the edges of the sea lochs whilst the Argyll Forest Park and part of The Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park spread out across the hills and mountains, making Cowal one of the remotest yet most accessible outdoor activity areas in Scotland.
Visitors can choose from a wide range of walks taking place in this beautiful but often forgotten part of Argyll. The area is a haven for those who love wildlife, photography and exploring Scottish heritage. Walks are graded from gentle strolls to strenuous hikes and are led by enthusiastic volunteers who want all to have happy memories of walking in Cowal. There are evening social events for fun and to compare notes.
